Do I Need Shin Pads for Futsal?

My girls are headed overseas to a sports camp and their question, “Do I need shin pads?” This is a real question, so be sure to let me know what you think.  Here is what we know so far: The camp paperwork was all due the week we returned from our around the world travel.  With so much to catch up on, I could barely get my head around anything that week so I am not really surprised I forgot to keep a copy of their applications. Yesterday I received an email from the New Zealand team coordinator with a [Read More]

Where Is Silly Hot Dog Man? (Silly Sunday *Linky)

Time for a quick guessing game.  Where did I take this photo of a silly hot dog man? Remember, we just went around the world, visiting 26 countries in 4 continents, so my clue isn’t really all that helpful. The clue being that I took the photo, so I was there. Silly Hot Dog Man Do you have a guess?  If not, here are a few more clues: I was there in our 2012 family travels. We didn’t eat there, as traveling with teens who are vegetarian precludes hot dogs. Casablanca - Not The Romantic City of the Movies

We are in Casablanca. I know what images used to appear in my head when I thought about Casablanca. I laugh at those now. Oh, and did I mention we are going home? Yes, we are done. Turns out Casablanca is our last stop and we fly from here. Long Haul – 8 hours Casablanca to Dubai, 9 hour layover then 18 hours home including a quick landing in Melbourne, Australia. So, why not enjoy Casablanca for a day before we go. The birds are pretty cool: Actually, they were more interesting if you approached that fenced area in the [Read More]

Another Moroccan Waterfall

A 40 minute detour on our way back to Fes took us to the trail head for another Moroccan waterfall, this one in Akchour. We gave our driver a bit extra to take us there. Actually, it wasn’t that simple. As we drove towards the parking area we were stopped by someone who wanted to be our guide.  He and the driver had a talk in Arabic, so we have no idea what actually transpired, but in the end we were paying for both our driver and our new guide. (I am laughing at myself as I write this.) So [Read More]

Would You Eat A Camel Burger for Lunch in Morocco? (WW *Linky)

Can you guess what I had for lunch yesterday?  The title gave it away, didn’t it. I ate a camel burger! So did the family.  Well, not all of us. Traveling with a teen vegetarian means more camel meat for the rest of us – just kidding, she had a salad. Camel Burger So, the questions for today: Would you eat a camel burger if you were in Morocco? Would you eat the salad on the plate, if you were in Morocco? Are we in need of Immodium (diarrhea tablets) today from the camel burger or the salad? If You [Read More]
