Toulouse, Not What I Expected From France

I have to admit, I came to France with a preconceived stereotype of the people we would meet.  Maybe I have watched too many movies, maybe I formed it 30 years ago when I visited Paris. What ever the case, Toulouse has certainly changed my perception (which I had kept to myself so my children could form their own ideas). Just about everyone we have met has been friendly, lovely and helpful. That is until tonight when we met the stereotype.  Our hotel receptionist had recommended a restaurant, and even wrote down its name for us.  We couldn’t find it.  [Read More]

Subtle Sarcasm Makes Crazy Dog T-Shirts Hilarious

Funny T-shirts are a prized possession at our house, and we just discovered another collection to keep us laughing for a while. Check out our newest t-shirt being modeled by our teen. I love a bit of clean comedy and subtle sarcasm that is universally funny.  Initially, when Crazy Dog Tshirts approached Laugh Quotes asking about a review I headed to their site to have a look at their shirts. Both hubby and my teen were in the room and this particular “Find X” funny math shirt was the favorite of my rocket scientist hubby. Another great thing about funny [Read More]

My Funny Friends: Meet Blonde Bomb Shelter

I grew up in Chicago, in a family and a neighborhood that enjoys sarcasm. We can’t help ourselves.  It’s just how we communicate. Fast forward a few decades and I move to New Zealand where sarcasm isn’t appreciated in the same light. I get in trouble. I get told off. I discover the internet, start blogging, and now I can go happily on my way with my new friends (many of whom are actually my old friends), and laugh and giggle at a bit of sarcasm.  It is for you that I am sharing the Blonde Bomb Shelter. So you [Read More]

Electricity Shock

Well I had quite the electricity shock earlier today.  The shock was that there wasn’t any.  I just want to turn on the lights and have them work.  Ok, not so important on this lovely sunny day, but the computer, it needs the electricity and so does the espresso machine. So, picture this – hubby is about to create for me a fabulous latte while I am enjoying a skype video call with my funny sister who lives half way around the world.   She is right in the middle of an hilarious story when the lights blink on and [Read More]

If you don’t already know the two guys from Soge Shirts, you are missing out on some funny stuff.  I met the two guys from Soge Shirts (well technically we never met) when I stumbled upon this shirt . . . . . . and laughed so hard their were tears in my eyes. I had to have one. (And you do too. The rules go like this, if you are laughing so loud that people notice, you have to have one too.) They make great gifts as kids love them because they are unicorns and rainbows.  Adults love them [Read More]
