Silly Sunday – Good or Bad?

Is Silly Sunday good or bad? With my countdown at 52 days until we embark on our 10 month overseas adventure, it is time to start thinking about these things.

When I started Silly Sunday a few months ago I envisioned a collection of laughs. The idea is simple – post anything funny and share your link. The definition of humor was nebulous – a joke, a comic, a funny photo, a silly video, an unusual product, an amusing story – you get the idea.

For the readers, Silly Sunday is a collection of laughs. For the blogger it’s a quick and easy post, along with a backlink on the linky and hopefully a few extra readers.

The reality is that it didn’t really catch on. So, what’s a girl to do?

I ask you now, is it good or bad? Should it stay or go? Should it continue through our travels, so there is a guaranteed weekly per-scheduled post? (I will blog as often as possible, but will be in some strange places without access like a night in a Bedouin tent or a week on a Turkish gulet.)

I know what you are thinking. By now you are wondering if there is actually anything silly today. As I am walking daily to get in better shape for our adventure, I was please when Carolyn sent me these:

good or badWalking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $4,000 per month.

My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he’s 97 years old and we have no idea where the hell he is.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I’m doing…

I joined a health club last year, spent about 250 bucks. Haven’t lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there!

I do have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

Every time I start thinking too much about how I look, I just find a pub with a Happy Hour and by the time I leave, I look just fine.

I ask you one final time – Is Silly Sunday good or bad? If we keep it, I need ideas on how to get the word out there. If we kill it, I guess I won’t have to worry about it anymore.

  5. I’d say leave it going, it’s amusing way to start a Sunday. If it needs to go on hiatus while you are on your adventure, just pick it up when you get back,or have a regular keep the linky and stuff going in your absence.
