“I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” ~Albert Einstein
A funny quote? Well, no, not on it’s own.
However, big thanks to my friend Carolyn who sent in the following photos, which seem to be circulating so widely around the web, they have lost their link back to an original source.
So, here it is, my best submission for Silly Sunday, just below the linky.
Silly Sunday is a Blog Hop
If you wrote anything silly this week, please add a link to your blog here. Either way, if you need a few more smiles today, take a look at some of the other entries here. Don’t forget to visit Comedy Plus and add your link there as well.
A Generation of Idiots
Have we created a generation of idiots?
Have a look and see . . . starting with in the car:
Chatting with our best girl friend:
Or on a date with a “special” friend:
Or conversing with a group of friends over dinner:
So, has Albert Einstein’s fear actually materialized? Here it is one more time:
“I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” ~Albert Einstein
It’s a great quote. I laughed. Did you?
Thanks again to Carolyn for today’s Silly Sunday.

I did in fact. It’s frightening too, but it’s the way it is.
Have a fabulous Silly Sunday Rhonda.

Frightening is a good word for it
I don’t know… technology has changed the way we interact with other people, sometimes to a ridiculous extent, but it hasn’t ‘surpassed’ it in the same way that Albert was thinking of, I think. Facebook and Twitter are still about humans interacting, even if they’re not in the same room. Television is a lot less interactive – but I have to admit I’m not quite sure what the quote had in mind.

Thanks Chris and welcome to Laugh Quotes. You do make a good point, but I do wonder if it has surpassed, just a bit our direct human interaction. Kids these days are more likely to FB or text than have face to face chats. You are probably correct, though – this is not what he imagined. Who could?
We are a generation of idiots!
Pretty cool to see the picture of you with my niece and grandniece.

LOL – no, we are not, it is the next generation. You are forgetting, our generation is brilliant
LOL had to laugh because that is exactly how it is these days, I had a house full last weekend and when I looked around four had phones in their hands texting or whatever and the sad thing about it was one of the four was me LMAO.
So Einstein was frigging well spot on
Have a text free day

We try to have a no texting at the table rule. Sadly, it makes for a lonely world.
LOL
Happy Silly Sunday. Visiting today from Sincerely Paula’s No Rules Weekend Blog Party.

Hi Rosey, thanks for stopping by. Hope you left with a smile.
I hate texting and all of our kids and grandchildren text me all of the time! I keep begging them to just call me!
I don’t have a signal where I live and the dang cell phone goes wacky when I hit an area with a signal. I just get aggravated and delete them all. But, they keep texting!
Happy Silly Sunday!

Deleting them will only remove their name from your address book. It can’t stop them from texting.
Funny but sad. And people wonder why I don’t have a cell phone…

I didn’t used to have one, not until my daughter broke her leg on the ski slope and had to be left by hubby because she wanted me. Now we are so dependent it is frightening.
I’m sorry she broke her leg!
Of course, I do have an iPad which has Magic Jack and Facetime, so I can connect. Guess it wouldn’t work on a ski slope unless some snow bunny was transmitting Wi-Fi.

The broken leg was quite a few years ago by now. What’s a Magic Jack?
I also have the no texting at the table rule, but my older son can skillfully text under the table without looking which is also scary. Sadly, most of the photos look like zombies.

So, which is worse, a generation of zombies or a generation of idiots?
Einstein was a genius, so you have to wonder. lol
Genius yes, but could he really predict this future? Welcome to Laugh Quotes.
The scenes above seem to have become the norm wherever you go. Sad…

It really is pretty sad. I don’t notice it so much when I do it, but when I see the photos it seems to reflect such an impersonal new world we live in.
I just want to slap the phone out of peoples’ hand. You don’t need your phone at the beach!! The younger generation is going to destroy the world by accident.

Don’t they worry about the sand and their phone. It can’t be a good combination.
