Home exchange is great! We have two scheduled for this trip. We have just arrived at our second in La Coruña, completely different from our other exchange home.
Now we are in the center of the city, with a less than 10 minute walk to a spectacular beach.
We are in the Northwest corner of Spain, in Galicia.
Once again the girls each have their own rooms, only now we are in a modern apartment near the top of a tall building with modern decor and electronics. (The other home in Palamos is a 17th century stone house).
Both houses are completely different from each other, yet both are spectacular in their own way.
We will be here for two weeks. The first two days were spent relaxing. Now we are ready to explore.
Here are some shots from our new La Coruña neighborhood (which is called A Coruña in Galician), starting with the view out of our window:

A surfing statue in front of the beach. We often see kids swimming in this statue’s base:

The town hall of La Coruña:

Some of the more modern buildings are inland, others are along the marina:

There is a waterfall in front of the Opera House, which is just a few blocks from our house.

Best part, we can walk to it all.

Wow what a beautiful place. Is that a pool or what? and the town hall is so nice. I love the structure.
Such a wonderful place to visit.

Thanks Danyelle. It is a fountain. The first time we walked by, that was all it was, but the next time there were two little kids “swimming” in it, so I am not sure if this was allowed, intended or just some kids having fun. Yes, their mum was nearby watching.
With a beach nearby, things are looking pretty good. Enjoy your two weeks of staying put.

I really is a lovely place. Although they seem to speak a different Spanish than I do, as no one understood me at all. I am not talking about the Galecian, but rather the Castillan was different.
