We did have a bit of on-board fun, so I thought I would share it today for Silly Sunday – a feature now co-hosted by Comedy Plus and Laugh Quotes.
I found this towel dog using my mobile phone one afternoon. Another day we had a turtle.

Such a nice pool for such a cold climate. There was one afternoon that seemed warm enough to swim, but they fill it each day with sea water, directly from the North Sea. No amount of sunlight was going to make that water warm enough for me!

Formal night on the MSC Opera: Ok, so we were not very formal, but this is the best we can do when we have limited luggage and space and need to be prepared for all seasons for 250 days. I think we did pretty good – as long as you can’t see our shoes. And besides, the level of service didn’t really warrant formal attire. One meal the waiter actually handed me a spoon while he held the end from which I eat.

The entertainment team was by far the best part of our on-board life. With show, contests, games and fun around every corner. Here hubby wins a formal dress. They were just kidding, he actually won something more practical. I can’t remember what this prize was, but between the four of us we won 3 backpacks, a t-shirt, a cap, a bum bag, a key holder, a CD case, two stuffed animals, a toy boat for the bathtub and a bottle of champagne – all with the MSC logo on it.

More fun from the entertainment team. A welcome sign at one of the ports. It think this one was Flåm, Norway. We never did go to Hawaii.

This was one of the rougher sea days, although it looks pretty tame in the photo. You will just have to take my word for it. It was never too bad. The ship seemed to be very stable.

Ewww…on the spoon. That’s gross. I’ll bet you didn’t use it did you?
How fun. It can get pretty turbulent on board.
If you just want to do one Silly Sunday post let me know. I think I messed up and put both your links down. Don’t want you to have to do too much work on your vacation.
Have a terrific Silly Sunday.

LOL – Thanks for co-hosting Silly Sunday. I figure on the weeks when I can arrange it so I have something funny to say on a Sunday, Laugh Quotes will play. I will go back to jokes after we return home to NZ.
As for the spoon. No, I didn’t use it. There were so may eewww incidences on board, it was really surprising. Clearly a lack of training.
Cruises have never really appealed to me but this one looks like fun

From the water is the best way to see the Fjords, plus Norway is so expensive, I don’t think we could have done it any other way.
There is nothing like being on a cruise, and Melissa looks beautiful in her dress up clothes. Green with envy.

Thanks. Melissa did look lovely. Sarah too. The girls really enjoy getting a bit dressed up.
Wow the service REALLY does take some beating. When the serving staff don’t even know the basics, that is bad. Pleased you had a great time though.

MSC just needs to incorporate a bit of customer service training into their program. I just looked at it all as blog fodor.
Dosen’t Jeff and Melissa look very dapper!! Well done!
Thanks Janis. I do have a nice looking family, when we dress up. Just don’t look at our feet.
LOL – love the towel animal on the phone. Did you add the phone?
No, the room steward did it all himself.
