“What are you writing about mum?”
“I am participating in The Noughties Blogfest hosted by Dave Wrote This. The goal, to list your favourite things from the decade.”
“I though you don’t like blogfests?”
“Actually, I love blogfests, what I don’t like is when I sign up for them, then forget about it until I am already late.”
So, being that Laugh Quotes is a humor blog, and I love movies, and if I lived on the other side of the world I would already be a day late. – I decided to go with the:
Top 10 Funny Movies of the Noughties:
As I am a mom, and a Homeschool mom at that, I thought I would start with funny, wholesome movies of the noughties:
- Finding Nemo (2003)
- Shrek (2001) / Shrek 2 (2004) / Shrek the Third (2007)
Now, at the risk of losing my clean cut image, I present to you the rest of my list of Top 10 Funny Movies of the Noughties. By the way, who was it that thought of calling it the Noughties. I looked it up, Nought is a variant spelling of naught – which means “0″ Zero – or nothing. So was it the decade of nothing. I guess I can use that as an excuse for my list of movies with zero social significance, just laughs.
The remainder of my favorite movies should be watched after the kids have gone to sleep. Most are movies I should be embarrassed to admit that I liked. However, all left me laughing and they completed my quick list.
- The Hangover (2009)
- Mama Mia! (2008)
- Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
- The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005)
- Mean Girls (2004)
- Bad Santa (2003)
- The Sweetest Thing (2002)
- Shallow Hal (2001)
It’s not too late to join in:
So, do we have the same taste in movies?

I’ve not seen a one of these. I just don’t watch much of anything. I’m the reader. Glad you enjoyed all these movies.
Have a terrific day.

LOL – they are they types of movies you want to watch when you just want to laugh, and you don’t want to think too much.
I like a lot of these movies too. So “noughties?” I always wondered what to call that decade.

I had never heard it before I signed up for the blogfest. I don’t really like the Noughties name too much.
Not surprised we like the same movies
Finding Nemo and Shrek are great as are Mean Girls and Little Miss Sunshine. I also include The 40 Year Old Virgin and The Hangover among my favorite comedies. I haven’t seen any of the others though.

Yay! Great minds laugh alike – or something like that. Welcome to Laugh Quotes.
There’s a couple on your list I’m not that keen on. Mamma Mia I thought was OK for the girls. I love Finding Nemo.

LOL – You probably have better taste in movies than I do. There are not top shelf movies, but they did make me laugh.
Well, I loved Finding Nemo; and Shrek wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
As for the rest though, I’ve only seen a couple, and only because it was on while I spent quality time with the family (which meant I sat in the frontroom on my computer while they watched TV).
I’m not much of a comedy person; but at least you’ve found an outlet to “take a break” from all the excessive excercising
Everyone needs down time. Sounds like you enjoy yours very much. Laughter is good for you.

When I sit to watch a movie, my choice is to just laugh and not think about it too much.

LOL – I love that movie too. My daughter was featured in Curl Magazine when she was about 10 and the story started out “Like the girl in Little Miss Sunshine” or something like that. So, she wanted to see the movie, and we didn’t pre-screen. I just remember when grandpa was giving dating advice to the brother, I was chattering away so she couldn’t hear. Thanks for hosting
awesome movies, comedies are my fave & wholesome are the best of everything!

It was fun picking out the movies, more fun watching them. I think Hangover or Little Miss Sunshine are the funniest on the page.
Mean Girls helped me remember there was a time when Lindsay Lohan was pretty – ah, those were the days. Fun list!
Good point
