Personally, I don’t get it. It was in the shop when we went to hire the exercise bicycle as part of my ankle rehab. My teen just strapped herself in and upside down she went. She has no fear, so I am sure there was not thought behind it.

My teen is an athlete. She is a snowboarder, and she inverts on the trampoline too. So, I don’t think she had any adjustment problems at all, in either direction. I am off to check out yours.
